Ashleigh Taylor is a Sydney based performer from the Lower North Shore.
Having just finished up on the national tour of "Green Days American Idiot The Musical" Ashleigh is now touring with "Grease The Arena Experience" in the leading role of Sandy. Prior to this, Ashleigh travelled to New Zealand to take on the lead role, Lillith in the world premiere of "Pleasuredome the Musical" starring alongside Lucy Lawless (Xena Warrior Princess), directed by Michael Hurst. She also featured in the cast of "Green Day's American Idiot" for its Australian Premiere in the role of Heather. Ashleigh also performed the role of Ellen in Packemin Production's "Miss Saigon" winning her the Broadway World Award for Best Supporting Actress In a Musical, and was “thrillified” to take on the principal role of Elphaba in Packemin Productions "Wicked", earning her a GLUG Award nomination for "Most outstanding performance by a newcomer". She is also a member of SMA productions “The Diamonds” helping bring the house down performing some of the biggest hits from the greatest divas of all time.
Recently Ashleigh has just finished writing her debut musical with her partner Ben Bennett. Out of over 200 musicals the show 'The Life Of Us' has been selected to be showcased at the ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop with Stephen Schwartz in Los Angeles, making it the first ever Australian work to be selected for the highly coveted spot. Ashleigh is a graduate from Brent Street, where she completed her Diploma of Musical Theatre. Through her studies, she has been fortunate enough to work with incredible performers such as Caroline O’Connor and Matthew Robinson. She has performed at events including Twisted Broadway and the Rob Guest Endowment.
As well as her training in Australia, Ashleigh has completed the “Acting for Screen” summer program at New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. During her time in the USA she performed at Disneyland C.A, Knottsberry Farm C.A and Universal Studios C.A.
On television Ashleigh has made guest appearances on “Home and Away” (Channel 7), “Deadly Women” (Beyond Productions) and “Underbelly- the Golden Mile (Channel 9)”
Her Film Credits include “Final Move” (Cinegear productions), “Pandorian” (directed by Harrison Woodhead) and “Best Enemies” (directed by Ross Bark).
